Wedding Venue Inspired Invitations – James and Sarah at Castle Grove House.

One of the biggest decisions to make when planning your wedding is deciding on the reception venue. Many couples put a lot of thought into finding the perfect venue that suits them and sets the right tone for their big day.

It’s therefore no wonder that my latest clients (and good friends!) James and Sarah, wanted their venue, Castle Grove House in Donegal, to feature on their invitation suite.

Bespoke venue illustrations are a wonderful way of telling a story, or invoking something personal to the Bride and Groom. They are incredibly versatile and, most importantly, totally unique to each couple. James and Sarah wanted a design that was simple and elegant, so we worked together to come up with a very pretty concept that reflected their tastes.

Sarah and James – bespoke wedding invitations.

Using a number of photographs, I meticulously created a detailed pencil drawing of Castle Grove House, softening the building with the surrounding trees. The design was printed on A5 sized, Italian Tintoretto textured card. I then added a subtle pop of colour, using a navy font for the lettering, with the names in a lighter hue of blue for contrast. James and Sarah then chose a deep navy blue envelope to match their overall wedding colour scheme, which looked beautiful against the pale cream invitation card.

James and Sarah’s unique invitation package was completed with the original, hand drawn A3 sketch, which had been professionally framed. A fabulous keepsake in honour of their special day!

If you have any ideas for a bespoke, one of a kind invitation suite, please don’t hesitate to get in touch to discuss your requirements, and maybe I can help to create something magical and unique for you!
